My personal experience with the fans of River Phoenix has been delightful.  It seems that everyone is very community minded and seem to share compassion for one another and the world around us. Since 1993, his inclusive spirit has resonated with people all over the world uniting those of different walks of life and ways of thinking.

Fans from all around the world wanted to honor River in a concrete way. As someone who enjoys taking on projects, I decided to take the lead and look into ways that this could be accomplished. Many avenues were attempted trying to honor the things that were most important to him. Since this was not something that I had seen done often, I knew it was no small undertaking and I wanted to give his fans the opportunity to contribute in whatever way they could.
